EDUCATION AND MIGRAINE
leaflet to explain how to manage migraine and Education for young people
Education is an important part of every child's development in life. But this may be lost to the 1 in 10 children who experience migraine who, on average, miss 1 to 3 months of school a year. This not only has a detrimental affect on their education. It also impacts their mental health, relationships with friends and family, and their quality of life in general.
One way to help children with migraine who have experience extended absences from mainstream schooling is through home schooling or tutoring.
Dr Salwa Kamourieh was approached by Sara Zia-Gharib of Limitless Tuition to create leaflets to support and advise both children and care givers of factors that may trigger migraine and some simple tips to help alleviate these.
